皮质： 皮质亦称大脑皮质，大脑皮质覆盖于大脑两半球的灰质，是高级神经活动的物质基础，由神经元、神经纤维及神经胶质构成。人类大脑皮质上有大量的皱起，称为回，回间的浅隙称为沟，深而宽的沟称为裂。沟回的面积增加了皮质的面积。大脑皮质表面分为五叶——额叶、顶叶、颞叶、枕叶和边缘叶。额叶、顶叶、颞叶、枕叶在系统发生上出现较晚，称为新皮质，边缘叶发生较早，称为旧皮质。大脑皮质从外到内分为六层：分子层、外颗粒层、锥体细胞层、内颗粒层、节细胞层、多型细胞层，它们由不同类型的神经细胞组成，其中颗粒细胞接受感觉信号，锥体细胞传递运动信息。
