除外责任亦称 “责任免除”。保单规定的保险人不负赔偿责任的灾害事故及其损失范围。其表示方式有列举式和不列举式两种。列举式，即在保险条款中明文列举出保险人不负赔偿责任的范围。不列举式，即所谓倒扣法，凡是未列入承保责任范围的均属 “除外责任”。由这些除外责任造成的经济损失，保险人不负赔偿责任。
