读经，中国清末学堂的教学科目。清光绪二十八年（1902）制定的《钦定学堂章程》，规定蒙学堂、小学堂、中学堂每年均设此科。蒙学堂读《孝经》、《四书》，小学堂读《诗经》、《礼记》、《尔雅》、《春秋三传》，中学堂读《书经》、《周礼》、《仪礼》、《周易》。清光绪二十九年末（1904）公布《奏定学堂章程》，规定初等小学堂、高等小学堂、中学堂改设“读经讲经”，所读各经大致同前。
