磁化焙烧是矿石加热到一定温度后在相应气氛中进行物理化学反应的过程,经磁化焙烧后,铁矿物的磁性显著增强,脉石矿物磁性则变化不大,如铁锰矿石经磁化焙烧后,其中铁矿物变成强磁性铁矿物,锰矿物的磁性变化不大。因此,各种弱磁性铁矿石或铁锰矿石,经磁化焙烧后便可进行有效的磁选分离。
