书眉是指图书正文上端的白边，在书眉上批注读书心得、批语、订误、校闻和音注都称眉批。 原指写在直行书本的眉头的批语，汉语改为横书后，一般写在横书的旁侧，故亦名“旁批”。眉批主要解决评价文章的局部性问题，对字、词、句、标点或段落等方面的优缺点进行提示、说明、分析、评定，联系实例给学生提供具体的帮助指导。
