百戏是中国古代汉族民间表演艺术的泛称，“百戏”一词产生于汉代。《汉文帝篡要》载：“百戏起于秦汉曼衍之戏，技后乃有高絙、吞刀、履火、寻橦等也。”可见百戏是对汉族民间诸技的称呼，尤以杂技为主。
