白语是白族的共同语，使用人口约120万 （2003年）。主要分布在滇西北的大理州、怒江州、丽江市、昆明市和文山州。有三种方言。白语的基本语序类似汉语，即主谓宾结构。声调比较多。音节结构比较简单。主要靠助词和语序来实现语法手段。
