定期租船（Time Charter）简称期租，是指远洋运输企业将配备有操作人员的船舶承租给他人使用一定期限，承租期内听候承租方调遣，不论是否经营，均按天向承租方收取租赁费，发生固定费用（如人员工资、维修费用等）均由船东负责的业务。
海上货物运输不仅包括提单运输，而且还包括租船运输，即主要分为程租(voyage charter)和期租(time charter)两种。在航运实务中，期租中可能包含程租，而程租又很可能包含着提单运输。
