抽样检验又称抽样检查，是从一批产品中随机抽取少量产品（样本） 进行检验，据以判断该批产品是否合格的统计方法和理论。它与全面检验不同之处，在于后者需对整批产品逐个进行检验，把其中的不合格品拣出来，而抽样检验则根据样本中的产品的检验结果来推断整批产品的质量。如果推断结果认为该批产品符合预先规定的合格标准，就予以接收；否则就拒收。所以，经过抽样检验认为合格的一批产品中，还可能含有一些不合格品。
