心脏移植主要是针对晚期充血性心力衰竭和严重冠状动脉疾病进行的外科移植手术。是将已判定为脑死亡并配型成功的人类心脏完整取出，植入所需受体胸腔内的同种异体移植手术。受体的自体心脏被移除（称为原位心脏移植）或保留用以支持供体心脏（称为异位心脏移植）。手术后平均生存期为13年。目前，我国每年心脏移植手术100余例，三年生存率大于90%，五年生存率大于85%。心脏移植并不是心脏病的常规治疗方法，而是作为挽救终末期心脏病病人生命和改善其生活质量的一个治疗手段。
