埋藏物，是指长期埋藏于地下或包藏于他物之中，其所有权归属已无法证明的物。归属已无法证明的物，有广义、狭义之分。广义不论其藏于何处，只要久存于动产或不动产之中，不知其所有人的物，均为埋藏物。狭义仅指埋藏于土地之中的不能证明其所有权的物。埋藏物一般为动产；须有埋藏的事实且不易被他人从外部发现；须所有人不明。根据我国法律规定，所有人不明的埋藏物，归国家所有。接收单位应当对上缴的单位或者个人，给予表扬或者物质奖励。
