地面图即“地面天气图”。它填有地面各种气象要素和天气现象。如气温、露点温度、风向、风速、海平面气压和雨、雪、雾、能见度等；还填有一些反映空中气象要素的记录，如云高、云状等；既有当时的记录，又有一些能反映短期天气演变实况及趋势的记录，如三小时变压、气压倾向等。因此，地面天气图又可称为综合图。
