味觉出汗综合征又称耳颞神经综合征或称Frey综合征。本病主要发生于腮腺手术后，偶尔可见于下颌腺手术及腮腺损伤后。发病原因是被切断的耳颞神经和原支配腮腺分泌功能的副交感神经纤维再生时，与被切断的原支配汗腺和皮下血管的交感神经末梢发生错位连接愈合，故而当咀嚼和味觉刺激时引起副交感神经兴奋，同时引起面部潮红和出汗。
结论腮腺切除术时保留腮腺嚼肌筋膜对预防味觉出汗综合征有显著效果。
