分批培养,是指在一个密闭反应器内投入一定数量的培养基后,接种微生物菌种进行培养的一种培养方式。分批培养的特征是在培养开始时一次性装入培养基和接入菌种,在培养过程中保持培养基体积和培养温度,在培养结束后一次性收获产物。由于分批培养中底物的不断消耗和代谢废物的不断积累,微生物一般表现为S型生长曲线,具有明显的延迟期、对数生长期、稳定期和衰亡期。分批培养常用于扩繁微生物以及废水处理、发酵等不连续的培养系统。有些分批培养中,会定期地加入一些营养物质以补充培养基的消耗,称为补料分批培养。
