分型面是为了将已成型好的塑件从模具型腔内取出或为了满足安放嵌件及排气等成型的需要，根据塑料件的结构，将直接成型塑件的那一部分模具分成若干部分的接触面。分为水平分型面、垂直分型面和复合分型面。制造铸型时，为方便取出模样，将铸型做成几部分，其结合面称为分型面。选择时尽量做到既保证铸件质量，又简化操作工艺。
