专刊，是指专门登载某一种内容的一期报纸（或一期报纸几个版面的组合）或杂志。在厚报吋代，报纸为国赢得市场，往往根据不同的受众传播不同的内容，专刊（如汽车专刊或周刊、楼市专刊或周刊等）便因此出现，此类专刊并不是单独的一份报纸，而是该份报纸中几个版面的组合。另外，报纸为了某一重要新闻，也会整期登载报道该新闻的各种文章，这是报纸专刊的另一种形式。这种形式的专刊如果是在各大报纸出版后再增发的，则称为号外。
