基础理论名词。以方剂组成的不同，进行分类，称为七方。即大方、小方、急方、缓方、奇方、偶方、复方。方剂组成的分类最早见于《内经》。《素问·至真要大论》：“治有缓急，方有大小”，“君一臣二，奇之制也；君二臣四，偶之制也”，“奇之不去则偶之，是谓重方”。至金代成无己《伤寒明理论》才将其总结为七方。
“七方”、“十剂”是方剂学中两种重要的方剂分类方法。
