abstract:Jephthah (pronounced , also spelled Jephtha or Jephte; (, "Yifthaḥ"; ; ), (ዬፍታሄ pronounced as Yoftahe in Amharic or Ethiopic in Ethiopian language), as described in the Old Testament's Book of Judges, served as a judge over Israel for a period of six years (Judges 12:7). He lived in Gilead and was a member of the Tribe of Manasseh.
