At 15, I remember viewing the first movie that I felt a strong urge to walk out ofbecause out of sheer boredom and because, well, I thought the offending film was total crap.
In a 1971 episode of British science show "Tomorrow's World", a reporter plays with various desk toys, in imitation of a lonely executive whose workload has been reduced to the point ofboredombecauseof computers.
The joke is on the filmmakers: the disarmingly smarmy Nealon gets the most laughs, possibly because his droll depiction of simmering boredom reflects the feelings of the audience.
