暴力直接打击、从高处坠跌、车辆撞击、碾压等都可造成股骨骨折。发生股骨骨折时，下肢不能活动，骨折处严重肿胀、疼痛，还可出现扭曲或成角等畸形，有时可出现下肢长度缩短。如同时有开放性伤口，则病情更加严重，常会使患者作发生休克。股骨是全身最大的骨头，骨折后如不及时处理，可引起患者大出血、神经损伤等严重并发症，所以必须迅速正确地进行固定包扎，然后立即送往医院处置。
