股骨是人体中最长的管状骨。股骨干包括粗隆下2～5厘米至股骨髁上2～5厘米的骨干。股骨干为三组肌肉所包围。由于大腿的肌肉发达，骨折后多有错位及重叠。骨折远端常有向内收移位的倾向，已对位的骨折，常有向外凸倾向，这种移位和成角倾向，在骨折治疗中应注意纠正和防止。股骨下1/3骨折时，由于血管位于股骨折的后方，而且骨折远断端常向后成角，故易刺伤该处的腘动、静脉。
