血中游离DNA简称循环核酸(circulating nucleic acid),是指循环血中游离于细胞外的部分降解了的机体内源性DNA。在这里,循环核酸不可顾名思义为循环血中的核酸类物质,所有细胞内的核酸,血中游离的内源性脱氧核糖核酸和外源性DNA与RNA,如真菌血症、细菌血症和病毒血症等病理情形下的血中外源核酸,虽然其在临床医学中具有重要意义但均不属于严格意义的血中游离DNA范畴。
