Other unusual critters, including long-nosed bandicoots, treekangaroos and ringtail possums, also haunt the crater: roll up after dusk with a flashlight to get a glimpse of these nocturnal marsupials.
Birds of paradise, cassowaries and a variety of other birds can be seen by day, while at night you can search for tree-kangaroos (yes, some kinds of kangaroo live in trees).
