We wanted to do this brief appearance to highlight one of the most significant examples of what we've been doing through this Nuclear Security Summit, and what our three countries have been able to accomplish through some painstaking cooperation over the last several years.
And so yesterday, at a summit of business leaders and entrepreneurs, we discussed the potential for greater economic cooperation between our two countries -- cooperation that could create jobs and opportunity through increased trade and investment, unleashing the potential of individuals in both our countries.
We've been able to keep inflation down and therefore keep the price regime down, mainly through monetary and fiscal management, but also through better efficiency of our productive sectors and the cooperation of the people, employers and government.
On the military side, we've also seen continued focus on deepening our partnerships through joint exercises, port visits and continued cooperation with regional military.
The Regulatory Cooperation Council, in fulfilling its mandate to promote economic growth and job creation, has spurred unprecedented cooperation to provide benefits to our consumers, regulators, and businesses through increased regulatory transparency and coordination while maintaining high standards of public health and safety and environmental protection.
We agreed to strengthen international cooperation through the G20 so that the fiscal situation does not endanger the recovery of our real economies.
