The Metropolitan Police defended Fedorcio's right to resign, saying in a statement that he had the same right as any other employee to resign while subject to a disciplinary investigation.
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar said in a short statement on Sunday that Mr Warner had offered to resign from her cabinet and she had accepted his decision.
