This change is meant to prevent the confusion many voters encountered by being sent to other polling stations or being denied the right to vote because their name did not show up on a voter registration sheet.
Without registration, the trademark owner must first prove to a court that it indeed owns an exclusive right to use a trademark in order to prohibit use of confusingly similar terms by others.
