Mr Kenyatta beat then-Prime Minister Raila Odinga by 50.07% to 43.28% in the March election.

He had said Mr Odinga, was fit to work but had been advised to rest.
That would diminish Mr Odinga and allow Mr Kibaki to retain his power of patronage.
In that vote, both Mwai Kibaki, the incumbent, and challenger Raila Odinga claimed to have won.

"It's unfortunate that Odinga feels the need to try and halt the count, " a coalition spokesman said.
Odinga, who had challenged the election results, accepted the court ruling and urged national unity and peace.
During the 2007 elections Mr Kenyatta supported President Kibaki's bid for a second term against Mr Odinga.
Odinga's camp also told supporters that the votes from his strongholds had not yet all been tallied.
He is a frontrunner for the presidency, along with Prime Minister Raila Odinga, in next week's election.

The two later entered into a power-sharing agreement, with Odinga named prime minister and Kibaki named president.
If Mr Odinga is frozen out of the presidency in next year's election, more conflict is possible.

In the previous election, Mr Odinga said he had been cheated of victory by allies of Mr Kibaki.
Odinga and his supporters claim the election was rigged, and international observers noted some irregularities with the voting.
Odinga was named prime minister in a coalition government led by Kibaki, with Kenyatta named deputy prime minister.
Such incidents are raising tensions in Kenya, and the opposition leaders, including Odinga, were driven away at speed.
Based on that, Odinga had earlier said he would station himself on the government side of the chamber.
Police on Thursday blocked a march into Nairobi in support of Odinga's party with tear gas and water cannons.
