On Thursday morning, alternative energy media darling Bloom Energy announced it is adding a new way for companies and universities to get their hands on a Bloom fuel cell box.
At one of Cantalupo's first meetings at the home office in Oak Brook, Illinois, he set priorities straight: The focus would be on fixing McDonald's first and worrying second about the pizza, chicken and Mexican food chains bought by Greenberg to fuel growth (see box, p. 26).
Solid oxide fuel cells have notoriously faced challenges with durability, since they operate at very high temperatures, which the Bloom box will also have to overcome to prove profitable.
