轮廓线，又叫“外部线条”，指电影构图中个体、群体或景物的外边缘界线，是一个对象与另一个对象之间、对象与背景之间的分界线。在机械制图当中，是指当回转体的轴线与投影面平行时，相对于该投影面区分回转体上回转面可见与不可见部分的分界线，称为回转线，该回转线在此投影面上的投影称为轮廓线。
