轨道武器，送入绕地球运行的卫星轨道上并能在预定点制动和攻击目标的导弹武器。轨道武器可以在同一个发射场从两个相反方向去攻击同一个目标，使弹头在对方反导系统预警雷达防御的薄弱处进入目标区。弹头上的制动发动机在开始启动还未产生制动作用之前，对方的预警雷达是不易判断弹着点的，而当制动发动机启动后，弹头再入大气层时，则弹头接近地面目标的时间已很短促，这就给对方的防御增加了困难。
