gǔ shí ㄍㄨˇ ㄕㄧˊ 谷实（谷实） 五谷之实；谷物。《礼记·月令》：“﹝季夏之月﹞季夏行春令，则谷实鲜落，国多风欬。”《后汉书·张禹传》：“ 徐县 北界有 蒲阳坡 ，傍多良田，而堙废莫修。 禹 为开水门，通引灌溉，遂成孰田数百顷。劝率吏民，假与种粮，亲自勉劳，遂大收谷实。”《后汉书·陶谦传》：“诏迁为 徐州 牧，加安东将军，封 溧阳 侯，是时 徐 方百姓殷盛，谷实甚丰，流民多归之。” 另有它指 《素女》曰：女人阴深一寸曰琴弦，五寸曰谷实，过谷实则死也。

That place was called the Valley of Eshcol because of the cluster of grapes the Israelites cut off there.

After they went up to the Valley of Eshcol and viewed the land, they discouraged the Israelites from entering the land the LORD had given them.
他们到了以实各谷，从那里砍了葡萄树的一枝，上头有一挂葡萄，两个人用杠抬着，又带了些石榴和无花果来。
When they reached the Valley of Eshcol, they cut off a branch bearing a single cluster of grapes. Two of them carried it on a pole between them, along with some pomegranates and figs.
