胆固醇代谢(cholesterol metabolism) 机体内胆固醇来源于食物及生物合成。成年人除脑组织外各种组织都能合成胆固醇,其中肝脏和肠粘膜是合成的主要场所。体内胆固醇70~80%由肝脏合成,10%由小肠合成。其他组织如肾上腺皮质、脾脏、卵巢、睾丸及胎盘乃至动脉管壁,也可合成胆固醇。胆固醇的合成主要在胞浆和内质网中进行。胆固醇可以在肠粘膜、肝、红细胞及肾上腺皮质等组织中酯化成胆固醇酯。
