欧洲货币贷款泛指一国银行以其非所在地国货币提供的贷款。作为离岸交易，欧洲货币贷款最大法律特点是不受贷款货币发行国的法律管制，而贷款银行的资金来源除了小部分是自有资金外，大部分是从其他银行拆借而来的。这种在货币发行国国境外存款或者放款的货币叫做欧洲货币，由众多欧洲银行经营欧洲货币业务所形成的国际金融市场就是所谓的“欧洲货币市场”。
