建筑美( architectural beauty)艺术美的形态之。指建筑艺术的审美属性。“建筑”( architecture)词来自希腊语 apxtrektuw(建筑师)，原意为”巨大的工艺”。建筑艺术是通过建筑物的物质实体在三维空间体现的造型艺术。最初它是人类物质生活需要的产物，随着人类的进步，在实用功能中逐渐发展出审美功能，恩格斯在《家庭、私有制和国家的起源》中指出:在原始社会末期，已经有了“竹作为艺术的建筑术的萌芽”。建筑美是一定的社会审美意识与特定的建筑表现形式的有机统一，其特点为:实用性，建筑首先必须满足人类物质或精神生活的某种需要，审美价值不能脱离实用价值而存在;技术性，建筑的美学可能性受建筑技术达到的程度制约，新技术，新材料的应用使建筑美出现新的形态;总效性，周围的环境、内外装饰对建筑的审美属性、审美价值有至关重要的作用;公共性，建筑是一种公共生活现象，在其他艺术中常见的对个人情感的表现，在建筑艺术创作中很难容纳。
