小麦哲伦星云（英语：Small Magellanic Cloud；缩写：SMC）又称小麦哲伦星系，位于杜鹃座，距离我们大约21万光年远，是银河系的已知卫星星系中第四近邻的星系，仅次于大犬座矮星系和飞马座矮星系以及大麦哲伦云。葡萄牙航海家斐迪南·麦哲伦（Ferdinand Magellan）和他的船员们在第一次环球航行中有大量的时间研究南天的星空。其结果是，两个对于南天的天空守望者来说轻易可见的天体奇观即被命名为麦哲伦云。
小麦哲伦星云甚至对国际空间站的访客来说也不能用肉眼看清。
