发现权是指发现人因重大科学发现，经评审而获得的荣誉和物质奖励的权利。发现权是一种民事权利，包括人身权和财产权两方面的内容，根据《中华人民共和国自然科学奖励条例》规定，发现权主体可以是公民个人，也可以是集体、华侨、外国人，在特定情况下也可以是发现权的主体。发现权的客体是科学技术的发展中有重大意义的科学研究成果。
如果不出意外，它将成为我的第一颗拥有发现权的SOHO彗星。
