主体教育是一种基于主体哲学对教育培养什么样的人以及教育活动的认识，是一种教育的观念或教育哲学思想，它相对于依附性教育或客体教育而言。其基本观点是：人是教育的出发点，人的价值是教育的最高价值；培育和完善人的主体性，使之成为时代需要的社会历史活动的主体，是教育的根本目的；主体教育的过程必须把受教育者当作主体，唤起受教育者的主体意向，激发受教育者主体的自主性、能动性和创造性，使教育成为主体的内在需要，成为主体自主建构的实践活动。
