Mexicans are more likely to be undocumented than any other group: the Immigration and Naturalisation Department thinks that 88% of male Mexicans and 73% of female ones entering America have nopapers.
In 1996, when the right was cracking down, some 28, 000 foreigners with the wrong papers or nopapers were arrested in Paris but 22, 000 were quickly released and only 1, 700 left the country.
