古地区名。一译金地。为梵文suvarna-dvīpa或Suvannabhūmi的意译。古代希腊和罗马的地理学家称之为Khrysē或Chrysē。所指地域，有时为缅甸南部，有时为马来半岛，有时为苏门答腊岛。一说为东南亚地区的泛称。惟托勒玫和其他古代西方地理学家所称的GoldenKhersonese，系指今马来半岛；《大唐西域求法高僧传》卷下《贞固律师传》和《道宏传》所述的金洲，则指今苏门答腊岛。
