Nick told E! News: ‘I found my way to connect to the song. I found it was really true and real. For me, it embodies that feeling of being trapped in a love that is kind of doomed. It can be tough to sing about difficult relationships.Part of my process of writing & making music is that it helps me not feel that way anymore. You get it out of your system. Some people write in journals, some people talk to somebody. For me it’s making music. I think it’s a helpful way to process things.’
