国旗简介

历史沿革

十九世纪初叶，波斯湾许多国家与英国签约规定在陆海使用红旗，巴林是其中之一。
1972年巴林独立时，国旗上的锯齿数目改为8个，寓意世界上的八个方位。再后来巴林王国执政时，把白色锯齿从8个减少到5个，即成今天的样式，用以象征伊斯兰教的五大支柱。
使用国旗的红白两色，为历史原因造成，无象征意义。
