鲹是硬骨鱼纲鲈形目（perciformes）鲹科（Carangidae）鱼类的统称。世界重要暖水性和暖温性海洋经济鱼类。鲹的分布与暖流的关系甚为密切，主要分布于印度洋、太平洋、大西洋热带和亚热带水域，也可随暖流到达纬度较高的海区。
