鲜水河为雅砻江左岸支流，古称鲜水、州江，源于青海省达日县巴颜喀喇山南麓，北源称泥曲（泥柯河），流入四川省色达县境，在炉霍与南源达曲汇合后称鲜水河。再南流经道孚县至雅江县以北27公里的两河口处汇入雅砻江。该河长541公里，落差1340米，流域面积19338平方公里，河口流量202立方米/秒，干流水能理论蕴藏量111万千瓦。
