表述机织物组织结构特征的重要参数。指相邻两根纱线上同性质最靠近的经(纬)组织点的纵向(或横向)的间隔纱线根数。沿经纱方向计算的称为经向飞数，又称纵向飞数;沿纬纱方向计算的，称为纬向飞数，又称横向飞数。经向飞数以向上数为正向下数为负;纬向飞数以向右数为正向左数为负。常用于缎纹组织。
