非竞争性抑制是指有些抑制物往往与酶的非活性部位相结合,形成抑制物一酶的络合物后会进一步再与底物结合;或是酶与底物结合成底物一一酶络合物后,其中有部分再与抑制物结合。虽然底物、抑制物和酶的结合无竞争性,但两者与酶结合所形成的中间络合物不能直接生成产物,导致了酶催化反应速率的降低,这种抑制称为非竞争性抑制。
