北极狐（学名：Alopex lagopus），也称为白狐、雪狐，主要分布在西伯利亚及北美洲的苔原地带。有良好、敏锐的听力。雄性北极狐体长约55厘米，尾长31厘米，体重3.8公斤；雌性53厘米，尾长30厘米，3.1公斤。肩高在25～30厘米之间。食物包括旅鼠、鱼、鸟类与鸟蛋、浆果和北极兔，有时也会漫游海岸捕捉贝类，但北极狐主食还是旅鼠。成年的北极狐交配后，会组成一个家庭，由公北极狐去寻找食物，母北极狐养育子女。
