雨水道 是利用明渠或暗管排放雨水（溶雪水）至天然水体或输送至污水处理厂进行处理（一般仅进行一级沉淀处理）的管渠系统。有时雨水道系统亦可排放相对清洁的工业废水。
其次，降水量与迳流量的估计， 亦将影响到农业地区的灌溉系统或是城市 地区雨水道（storm-water drains）的排水量 估定。最后，温湿度变化周期的预估，在 某些情况下也是估算坡面稳固度的依据。
