隐性教育是指在宏观主导下通过隐目的、无计划、间接、内隐的社会活动使受教育者不知不觉地受到影响的教育过程。它实现教育目的于日常生活中，渗透教育过程于休闲逸致间，以“潜移默化”、“润物无声”的方式对受教育者的思想、观念、价值、道德、态度、情感等产生影响。隐性教育的教育主体体现为“宏观性主导”，或者说隐性教育的“操作者”是“宏观性主导”。隐性教育与显性教育属于两种不同的教育方式，两者范畴对应、作用互补。
