间体是细胞膜内陷形成的层状、管状或囊状物。又叫中间体，中介体。与处在细胞表面的细胞膜相比，间体上镶嵌的酶蛋白更多，细菌细胞的能量代谢主要在间体上进行，所以人们又称间体为拟线粒体。其功能可能与细胞壁合成、核质分裂、细菌呼吸和芽孢形成有关。且促进细胞间隔的形成。
