锻铝合金属于变形铝合金的一类，代号LD。包括铝镁硅铜系变形铝合金和铝镁硅系变形铝合金，主要用作形状复杂的锻件。镁和硅可形成强化相Mg2Si；铜可以改善热加工性能，并形成强化相Cu4Mg5Si4Al；锰可以防止加热时出现过热。锻铝合金大都在淬火，人工时效状态下使用。在淬火后应立即进行人工时效，否则降低强化效果。主要牌号有LD2等。锻铝合金高温强度低，热塑性好，可锻造加工成形状复杂的锻件和模锻件，也可轧制成板材或其他型材。主要用于飞机结构件上。
